Parenting starts right from the time your bundle of joy is born; patenting includes raising your child and making sure that you meet all of his emotional needs as well as other needs. There are several duties that you will need to perform such that your child grows up to become an important member of the society. Providing physical security
The most important and the most basic of all function of a parent is to provide physical security to the children; this security is to be provided in the form of proper food, shelter and clothing of the child. As a parent it is your duty that you make sure that your child is free from any danger.
Physical development
The next thing that you have to ensure after providing proper physical security is providing proper physical development. In order to make sure that the physical development of your child is complete you should try and make sure that he participates in games and activities. In physical development, a proper diet and proper nutrition is also very important so you must make sure that you are taking that in to account as well.
Intellectual security
Providing intellectual security to your child means giving him an atmosphere where there is peace and harmony in the home and there is no use of abusive and insulting words. This leads to better mental and psychological development of the child.
Intellectual development
It is a right of every child to get educated and in order to make sure that your child gets proper intellectual development it is essential that you have him/her properly educated, as parents you will be his first teacher, it is your duty to teach them to read and write before they start their formal schooling and even after that you should take active interest and participation in their work and help them along their studies.
Providing emotional security
Although the physical development of your child is your basic duty, but making sure about the proper emotional development of your child is also a very important task. In order to so, you should show your children how much you care for them , small gestures are enough to express your love for them. A hug, a pat on the back or a kiss is more that enough to make them feel on top of the world, these little gestures speak loud and clear how much you love them. Children always want the security that they are loved and cared for and as a parent it is important that you show them that they are cared for.
Before you become a parent it is important that you are prepared for it. Preparation need not only be emotional but also financial and physical preparation is required. It is essential that you know your duties and try and perform them to the hilt, but the most important duty that you need to perform is to show genuine love and affection towards your child.
